Ride to Give

ridetogiveAbout Ride to Give:

The Ride to Give is a charitable non-profit organization based in Nyack NY, just outside of NYC. It was founded by Kaete Nazaroff and her husband, nine-time Ironman Dave Nazaroff.

In the summer of 2013 Dave, followed by a support van with a team of 3, completed the first annual Ride from Nyack to Jefferson, GA (over 900 miles by bicycle) in 5 days to raise awareness and donations for the family of Tripp Halstead, a toddler who suffered a traumatic brain injury in fall of 2012. The Ride raised $180,000 for the Halstead family, plus an additional $17,000 for Sunshine on a Ranney Day, a 501C(3) charity that renovates rooms and homes for children with illnesses and special needs.

The Ride to Give intends to complete the Ride annually, benefitting different children in need each year, and continues to post and raise awareness and funds for other causes dear to their hearts.

Being Brody’s Mom!

Today is Mother’s Day and the start of my journey of blogging on Brody’s new website.  Brody is one year and 13 days old now.  He is the most loving and most adorable child sent from God above!  I truly believe that God made us all different and special in our own ways to teach one another.  Brody’s has a unique gift although he cannot see and suffers from cerebral palsy and cysts on his brain, he has changed so many people and showed them to be grateful and to help.

This has been a very tough first year but very rewarding watching him grow.  To see the smiles on his face makes everything worth wile.  All the doctors appointments, physical therapy at clinic and at home, and all the stares we get from people, the constant need to be help due to being blind.  But we have a lot of people that are staying positive and keeping us strong.  We started this website to get Brody’s story out and hoping that it will reach out to people and change the way you think if you are in a negative place in your life and also maybe reach people that want to help Brody.  We are trying to raise funds for a upcoming surgery and to help our living arrangements better for Brody.  Right now our house is no where close to being ready for his needs.  I keep praying that God will lead us to a way to help Brody and make his life a little easier for him.

This week we have physical therapy appointments two days and a pediatric orthopedic doctors appointment on Thursday.  I will keep everyone updated and praying for some answers.  If you can find a way to help Brody as we are each day we would appreciate it so very much!  The Jackson Family
